Yacht weddings and events in Puerto Vallarta

You can host a symbolic wedding, a proposal, a birthday, a bachelor or bachelorette party or a company event on a private yacht in Banderas Bay. We help you choose a vessel for your group and confirm in writing what it allows.

01Occasions

A vessel for every celebration

From a toast for two to a party for a whole graduating class, here are some of the occasions you can celebrate out on the water.

Weddings

A symbolic ceremony or one led by the officiant you choose, a toast and photos with the sea behind you. We confirm what the vessel allows for guests, setup and timing.

Proposals

A vessel for two or for a few close friends, ideally at sunset. Let us know if you are bringing flowers, a cake or a photographer so we can coordinate with the crew.

Birthdays and anniversaries

Snorkeling, a beach stop and a toast with your favorite people. Several vessels have a sound system you can connect your phone to.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties

A day at sea with your crew, with drinks and snacks included, or an open bar on the vessels that offer one.

Company events

Team outings, year-end celebrations and client hospitality, on anything from a luxury yacht to an event catamaran.

Graduations

Outings for an entire graduating class on trimarans and large-group catamarans, with room to mingle and dance.

02Weddings at sea

Weddings on board, your way

A yacht wedding can be a symbolic ceremony, a vow renewal or the centerpiece of a weekend of celebrations.

The ceremony on board is symbolic, or you arrange it with the officiant of your choice. If you also want a legally recognized marriage, that process is handled separately with the relevant authorities and is not part of the charter.

What we do is confirm in writing what the vessel allows: how many people can come aboard, where the ceremony can be set up, whether you can bring flowers, an arch or a cake, and the departure and return times. For soft light in your photos, consider a late-afternoon departure.

Capacity is the first thing that shapes your event. The fleet ranges from 5 to 200 guests, and every listing shows the vessel's maximum.

For proposals and intimate celebrations

The Sea Ray 60, with its spacious cushioned foredeck, and the Lagoon 45 and Lagoon 45 II catamarans are frequent picks for proposals, anniversaries and sunset dinners.

04Planning

Plan your event in four steps

  1. Date and guest count

The total number of people, including children, a photographer or an officiant, decides which vessels are possible. If your date is flexible, tell us.

  2. Timing and departure point

Tell us whether you picture a sunset ceremony, a lunch or a party, and whether you would rather leave from Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta or La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

  3. Food, drinks and extras

We check what each yacht includes, whether you can bring a cake, decorations or your own drinks, and whether catering is available at extra cost.

  4. Everything in writing

Before you book, you receive the schedule, departure point, inclusions and terms for your event in writing.

05Details

What to confirm ahead of time

Every vessel has its own rules and equipment. Going over these points early saves surprises on the day.

  • Decorations: flowers, an arch or a cake; we confirm what the vessel allows and where it can be set up.
  • Music: several vessels have a sound system; the Catamaran 90 has a DJ booth and the Luxury Custom 70 has karaoke.
  • Your own food and drinks: only on vessels that allow it, as shown on their listing.
  • Vendors: a photographer, musician or officiant also counts as a person on board.
  • Guests with special needs: older guests, guests with limited mobility or small children; tell us so we can suggest the most comfortable vessel.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

See all frequently asked questions

Is a wedding on a yacht legally binding?

The ceremony on board is symbolic, or you arrange it with the officiant of your choice. The charter does not include any legal paperwork; if you want a legally recognized marriage, that is handled separately. What we confirm in writing is what the vessel allows: guest count, setup, decorations and timing.

How many guests fit on a yacht for an event?

It depends on the vessel: the fleet ranges from 5 to 200 guests. Large weddings and company events usually suit the event catamarans, which require a minimum number of guests. For mid-sized groups, see our yachts for groups; every listing shows the maximum capacity.

Can I bring decorations, a cake or a photographer?

It depends on the vessel, and we confirm it in writing before you book. When you request a quote, tell us what you would like to bring and how many extra people will come aboard, such as a photographer or officiant, so we can check what is allowed and where everything can be set up.

Which vessels have an open bar for a party?

9 vessels include an open bar in their package, such as the Custom 90 or the Hatteras 61. On the event catamarans, the food and bar service is set out in your quote. You will find the details on our food and drinks page.

Can you help me plan a surprise proposal?

Yes. Tell us your idea and we coordinate it with the crew: the departure time, the moment of the proposal and anything you want to bring aboard, such as flowers or a cake. We confirm in writing what the vessel allows so the surprise goes the way you planned it.

Where do event yachts depart from?

From Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco, and from Nuevo Vallarta and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle in Nayarit, depending on the vessel. The largest event catamarans depart from Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta, and can leave from La Cruz or Punta de Mita at extra cost.

How far ahead should I book an event?

As soon as you have a date. Availability is confirmed for each day and each vessel, and an event takes more coordination than a simple outing. Send us your date, guest count and the kind of celebration, and we will send you options in writing.

Have a date in mind?

Tell us how many people are coming and what you would like to do on the water. We check which vessels are available and send their details in writing.
