01Who we are

Private charters on Banderas Bay

We arrange private yacht and catamaran charters in Puerto Vallarta and across Banderas Bay, the bay shared by the states of Jalisco and Nayarit.

Private means the vessel is for your group alone: you decide who comes along, suggest the timing and choose what to do on the water, whether that is snorkeling at Los Arcos, a south-shore beach such as Yelapa, a sunset off the Malecón or a celebration on board.

Our job is to help you find the right vessel, check its availability on your date and put everything we agree in writing before you book. The navigation is in the hands of the captain and crew, who are included on every charter.

03How we work

What we agree, in writing

We want you to know exactly what you are booking before you book it. These are the rules we follow with every request.

Confirmed inclusions

The schedule, departure point, inclusions, upgrades and terms reach you in writing before you book. If something is not in writing, we do not take it for granted.

Availability for your date

A vessel appearing on this site does not mean it is free every day. We check your specific date before suggesting an option.

Conservative figures

When published details for a vessel do not match, for example on capacity or length, we show the more conservative figure and flag it on the listing, as with the VTech 65.

Rates that fit your plan

We do not publish a single price: the rate depends on your date, the vessel, the hours and the size of your group, and we send it with your quote.

04On board

Food and drinks, spelled out

Every vessel belongs to one of these tiers, so you can compare at a glance. The number shows how many vessels in the fleet offer each one.

  1. 3

    Ice & water

Ice and bottled water. A good fit if you prefer to bring your own drinks and snacks, where the vessel allows it.

  2. 37

    Drinks & snacks

A set number of beers or sodas, water and snacks or seasonal fruit, as listed for each yacht.

  3. 3

    Lunch included

Drinks and snacks plus a lunch that is specified in the vessel listing.

  4. 7

    Open bar & food

An open bar with specified food; the details vary by vessel.

  5. 3

    Chef on board

A chef on board who prepares food during the charter, with drinks included as listed.

Quantities, menus and upgrades are confirmed in writing before you sail.

05On the water

Safety and the rules of the bay

On every charter, the captain has the final say on safety. Routes depend on charter length, departure point, weather, sea conditions and current regulations.

  • Marietas Islands: a national park with regulated access. Any visit depends on permits, park rules and conditions on the day.
  • Humpback whales: in season, roughly December to March, whale watching follows Mexican federal rules on distance and viewing time.
  • Changes of plan: if wind or swell picks up, the captain may adjust the route, choose another swim spot or head back to port.

Frequently asked questions

What is Yates Puerto Vallarta?

A private yacht and catamaran charter service for Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay. We help you choose among the 53 vessels in the fleet, check availability on your date and confirm in writing what each charter includes.

Are the charters private?

Yes. The charters we offer are private: the vessel is for your group alone, with the captain and crew included. You decide who comes along and what to do on the water, within what weather, sea conditions and regulations allow.

Which languages do you speak?

English and Spanish. You can call or write to us in either language, and the whole website is available in both.

How can I contact you?

By phone at +1 305 515 4735 or by email at info@YatesPuertoVallarta.com. You can also use the contact form for general questions, or the quote request form if you already have a date and a number of guests.

Where do your vessels depart from?

From three points on Banderas Bay: Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco, and Nuevo Vallarta and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle (Marina Riviera Nayarit) in Nayarit. Each listing shows the departure point, and the exact boarding spot is confirmed in writing with your booking.

Why do you confirm everything in writing?

So you know exactly what you are booking: schedule, departure point, inclusions, upgrades and terms. It avoids surprises on the day and gives you a document to refer to if any question comes up before or after you book.

Do you publish your rates?

We do not publish fixed rates, because they depend on the date, the vessel, the hours and the size of your group. We send the rate with your quote, together with what the charter includes, so you can compare options with all the information.

Have a date in mind?

Tell us how many people are coming and what you would like to do on the water. We check which vessels are available and send their details in writing.
